This site is maintained by James M. Van Lanen, an anthropologist who has spent nearly two decades studying and working with indigenous hunter-gatherers on three continents.

James is the author of “Human Rewilding in the 21st Century” and several other works on rewilding, ancestral skills, and the crisis of civilization.
